Gary Jules is een Amerikaanse songwriter die een oude hit van Tears For Fears 'Mad World' heeft gecoverd en er een dikke hit mee scoorde in Nederland. De song kwam voor in de film 'Donnie Darko'. In dit interview vertelt hij waarom juist die songs werd gebruikt voor de film.

"The Tears For Fears album is all very much about adolescence, about being between childhood and adulthood, about knowing things and about having wisdom, but not having the experience to prove it. That is what attracted us to that particular song because it spoke to that particular time in life."
